Frank Urso Varsity Head Coach

Frank Urso enters his fourth season as the Head Coach of the Garnet Valley’s Men’s High School Lacrosse team. In the first three seasons Garnet Valley had a record of 49 – 16 overall and 28 – 7 in the Central league.
Coach Urso has brought an impeccable history of success in the Lacrosse world to this team, a high school All-American and four time first team Division I College All-American, one of only four players ever. Coach was a two time winner of the “McLaughlin Award” as the Nations Outstanding Midfielder, and winner of the “Raymond Enners Award” as the Nations Outstanding Division I player. Coach Urso played on two National Championship teams 1973 and 1975 and two runner up teams in 1974 and 1976 at the University of Maryland, as well as playing for the US National Team which won the World Championship in Melbourne Australia in 1974. In addition, Coach Urso was inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame and the University of Maryland Sports Hall of Fame. Coach Urso is the only Lacrosse player at the University of Maryland to have his Jersey retired, #21.  Urso was also named to the NCAA Silver Anniversary All-Time Lacrosse Team and the ACC Anniversary Team honoring the leagues best players ever.

Coach Urso is proud to be the Head Coach of the Garnet Valley Jaguars.

• Played in four National Championship games; MVP of 1975 National Championship game
